What Medications are used for Hypertension?

Once you have been diagnosed with High Blood Pressure you will find there are different options to control the condition. It may be as simple as changing your diet. Diuretics work by assisting your body in getting rid of unwanted water and salt through the urine which in turn lowers blood pressure. Diuretics are also used for treating heart conditions, kidney and liver problems, and glaucoma. Some common Diuretics are Esidrix, Lasix, Bumex, and Demadex.

When you are on drug therapy it is important to visit your Doctor at least once a month to determine how the medication is working. Once the right medication is found, your visits will be lessened.

Treating Hypertension is very important. It can reduce to risks of having a stroke, and heart disease.
